On Thursday, March 10, 2016, twenty-two members of the Breathitt ATC FBLA traveled to Eastern Kentucky University to attend the Region 6 Spring Leadership Conference. While there, members competed in a variety of business-related events, watched the talent show, networked with other members from around the region, and voted on regional officers for the upcoming year. The club had great success in the competitive events, with the following members advancing to state competition:
• Cody Fouts – 1st Place – Computer Problem Solving
• Brooke Halsey – 2nd Place – Public Speaking 1
• Shayla Noble – 2nd Place – Business Communication
• Zach Rice – 2nd Place – Economics
Additionally, four other members are advancing to the next round for state-only competitive events:
• Dakota Akers, Ethan Griffith, and and Gavin Rohr – Virtual Business Challenge
• Tierra Monroe – Microsoft Office Specialist Challenge – Word
The state competition will be held April 18-20 at the Galt House in Louisville, KY. Advisers Rebecca Neace and Jerry Smith are extremely proud of these students who have worked hard to achieve this success. Furthermore, the club would like to thank the Breathitt County community for all their help and support.
